The Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has issued security and safety precautions to residents of the council.
The council strongly urged residents to adhere strictly to measures issued on Tuesday, at all times for their safety
According to the council, residents were charged to:

”Be vigilant and security-conscious at all times, report any suspicious movement, activity or individual immediately to the appropriate authorities”.
Also, to “Avoid spreading unverified information, false alarms, or rumours that may cause panic; keep emergency contact numbers readily available and accessible, and Familiarize yourself with designated emergency exits and assembly points in public places”.
Imota LCDA also urged her residents to “Cooperate fully with security personnel and law enforcement agencies during emergencies, do not leave personal belongings unattended to in public places and in the event of any emergency, remain calm and carefully follow official instructions.

Other measures are to “Ensure that children, the elderly, and other vulnerable persons are properly monitored and protected, and prioritize your safety and the safety of others at all times”.
Residents were also asked to contact the appropriate security agency immediately in case of any emergency, while urged to take issue of security as their own responsibilities.
